    I have seen him around Muskegon a few times. He used to stop at a store with him limousine and actually chauffeur himself around. When he would park, he would hop over the seat into the back, take his silly chauffeur hat off, then get out like he was the passenger all along. It was entertaining at the very least and creepy at best.

    I rented from him. And am having a hard time getting my deposit back. I need his home address so I can file in small claims court. Over 45 days from the day you move out and state law says you can get double your deposit back. I wonder how many others have been taken by his good nature in renting to learn a lesson later. He does one thing at least for me. Never had a person come to look at the house to buy it.

    No one came to look at the house while you were renting because Marshall and his staff tells the other agents that the renter is not cooperating with any showings. He discourages any real showings because his intent is to rent the house, not sell it. He makes more in rent than he would in agent commissions if it sells. A scam for sure.

    I had looked at a house and talked with the agent selling the house. The agent told me that she and other agents have tried to work with Marshall but he doesn’t want to work with them. As he won’t accept a lower offer than the asking price. As a renter I was informed I wouldn’t be bothered by people just looking unless they had proof they could get the money to buy the home. Thanks for the information I didn’t know. As far as I know he never came to the property after we moved out of the house. Like I may have said the new renters moved in the day after we moved out.

    I called Michigan Attorney General today about Marshall Redder and I was told to date only 4 complaints have been filed on Marshall Redder. Mine will be the 5th. If those who have not gotten back their Security Deposit back from him will file a complaint with Michigan Attorney General , Consumer Protection Division we all may see action taken abainst him to stop his practice.

    Let people know they need to take action by filing a complaint with Michigan Attorney General Office. I have and todate only 5 with my complaint have been filed last was 2009 before mine. That may be the reason they haven’t done anything to him yet.

    You can also call The West Michigan Association of Realtors where he is licence to be a Broker.
    If too many complaints come in, they can revoke his licence.

    Jeff I called them he is not listed with them. I think the only one he was with is Grand Rapids Realtor Association. Have those you know post facebook

    Maybe we can put a stop to how he prictices taking advantage of those that don’t know what to do when they can’t find his address to have him served. He has the right to get the case moved to District Court and I believe people think they have to pay an attorney to get their money back costing them more than they will win in court.

    Jeff told me to contact the same Realtor Association as you did. i called they told me he is not with them But they know of the news on him. To stop him people have to turn in a complaint against Marshall Redder with the Michigan Attorney General Office

    Mr Redder told us a week or two ago he would send out the security deposit . So far nothing . I called him and he wasn’t thinking , he answered his phone and proceeded to tell me he was coming to Greenville today and would drop the check off. Its almost 11:30 am. No Marshall Redder as someone predicted. I guess court action may be our only chance of getting our money back. As I understand it from Leagle Aid we now have the right to go for Double the deposit and all cost for filing, having him served and legal fees if we use a lawyer in normal court. So he could be looking at paying out $5,000 or more for the $650.00 he is keeping from us. I just hope the server finds him going into his business or can get his correct address of his home from the Kent County Jail or the Grand Rapids Police as they seem to know how to find him . Call and file a complaint if he has kept your deposit with the Attorney General Office

    If he doesn’t fix your place up you rent call the local police to file a complaint. Spread the work

    In the news Marshall Redder has killed himself. Some us have doubts he did. I think someone he cheated took his life. He had everything to live for, lots of homes he didn’t own and got rent out of. He had to be a very weathy man and a greedy one. I am wondering how I will get my security deposit back now. I am hoping when they are settling his estate they contact us with our deposit back we are entitled to double our deposit back as he ignored our request for our deposit back. I feel sorry fo his family members, because people will be coming out of everywhere to collect what he thought he didn’t have to pay back. He more than once said he was going to give us back our deposit just to not send it once and the last time not show up when he said he was coming to Greenville to list a home and pay us our deposit. If he did kill himself he must have been facing a lot of pressure from the law and looking at time in prison on other charges and couldn’t deal with the idea of meeting men in prison who he cheated. I just started learning of how he took money from people that thought they were renting until the paper work went through and got kicked out after the home was forclosed on.

    Michael, you need to file a complaint with the courts and his estate will have to pay, if there is any money to pay with.Perhaps a civil suit involving many he owed money to is in order?
